REVIEW: Germany Dominates Scotland 5-1 in Electrifying Euro 2024 Opener.

In a thrilling opener for UEFA Euro 2024, Germany triumphed over Scotland with a resounding 5-1 victory. Goals from Florian Wirtz, Jamal Musiala, Kai Havertz, Niclas Füllkrug, and Emre Can ensured Germany’s dominant performance. Despite Scotland’s valiant efforts, including a goal that prevented a shutout, they couldn’t secure a draw or win.

Scotland faced an uphill battle when Ryan Porteous was sent off before half-time for a foul on Ilkay Gündogan in the box, leaving them to play with 10 men. Germany showcased their prowess in every aspect of the game.

Florian Wirtz opened the scoring in the 10th minute, capitalizing on a failed save by Scotland’s Angus Gunn. Germany extended their lead with Jamal Musiala’s strike in the 19th minute. Kai Havertz added to the tally with a penalty, making it 3-0. Niclas Füllkrug further cemented their dominance with a goal in the 68th minute, although a subsequent effort was disallowed by VAR.

Scotland managed a consolation goal in the 87th minute, courtesy of an own goal by Antonio Rüdiger. However, Emre Can, a late addition to the squad, sealed Germany’s victory with a fifth goal in stoppage time.
