Switzerland Triumphs Over Hungary 3-1 in Euro 2024 Showdown

Switzerland defeated Hungary 3-1 in their second game of the European Championship 2024. The Swiss opened the scoring with Kwadwo Duah netting a goal in the 12th minute, following a brilliant low pass assist from Michel Aebischer. Aebischer then extended the lead to 2-0 before half-time with a stunning curling strike.

Duah, who made his international debut last week against Estonia, has now scored in just two appearances for the Swiss national team. Hungary fought back, reducing the deficit to one goal with a Barnabas Varga diving header, expertly assisted by a Dominik Szoboszlai cross.

Despite Hungary’s relentless efforts to find an equalizer, Switzerland’s substitute Breel Embolo sealed the victory. A mistake from Hungary’s defender Willi Orban allowed Embolo to chest the ball into his stride before lofting it past goalkeeper Péter Gulácsi.
